Background of the Invention
Handy Hamper® Personal Laundry Bags

During the early 1980’s the concept of providing draw string bags to dry cleaning customers was a new concept. Dry cleaner Steve Berglund ordered 100 bags to test the concept but the bags never arrived. Shortly thereafter when Steve and his wife Gina were shopping and Steve was carrying her shopping bag he thought of the idea of slipping two hangers through the two handles so the bag would hang in his closet. This is when Handy Hamper® was conceived.

Soon Steve began selling his hamper bag to his dry cleaning customers and in the years to come it has brought in over one million garments to his dry cleaning stores.

In 2005 Steve & Gina began using Handy Hamper® to hold laundry in their closet at home and discovered it was convenient to carry the laundry to the laundry room. Shortly thereafter the packaging was designed and marketing strategies were implemented to begin selling nationwide.
